It’s Green

Choosing to adapt an existing, structurally-sound building, rather than tear it down, is the first major principle of green construction. Designed to meet many of the LEED Certified standards, 599 Washington Place and site contain a multitude of sustainable materials, products and design strategies. The site itself will have drought-tolerant plantings and landscaping. The structure will be completely renovated using a sorting system for all debris to insure maximum recycling of all materials and diverting 85% from traditional landfills. 90% of the building’s exterior structure is being restored and reused. Inside the finishes will include many energy efficient and eco-friendly products designed to minimize its carbon footprint including; new Marvin vinyl windows, Low-E coated, with Argon sealed and insulated glass, high-efficiency heating and cooling, recycled flooring options, and sustainable product choices.
